Welcome to the SocialBlock Quickstart Guide! This guide will help you install the SocialBlock browser extension and set up your Web3 profile, enabling you to engage with decentralized communities seamlessly.

1. Installing the SocialBlock Extension

For Google Chrome:

1. Access the Chrome Web Store:

   • Open your Chrome browser and navigate to the Chrome Web Store.

2. Search for SocialBlock:

   • In the search bar, type "SocialBlock" and press Enter.

3. Add to Chrome:

   • Click on the "Add to Chrome" button next to the SocialBlock extension.

   • In the confirmation dialog, select "Add extension" to complete the installation.

For Mozilla Firefox:

1. Access Firefox Add-ons:

   • Open your Firefox browser and go to the Firefox Add-ons site.

2. Search for SocialBlock:

   • Enter "SocialBlock" in the search field and press Enter.

3. Add to Firefox:

   • Click on the "Add to Firefox" button for the SocialBlock extension.

   • Confirm by selecting "Add" in the prompt that appears.

For Microsoft Edge:

1. Access Edge Add-ons:

   • Open your Edge browser and navigate to the Edge Add-ons store.
2. Search for SocialBlock:

   • Type "SocialBlock" into the search bar and press Enter.

3. Add to Edge:

   • Click "Get" next to the SocialBlock extension.

   • Confirm by clicking "Add extension" in the dialog box.

Note: After installation, ensure the SocialBlock icon is visible in your browser's toolbar for easy access. If it's not visible, you may need to pin it manually.

2. Setting Up Your Web3 Profile

1. Open SocialBlock:

   • Click on the SocialBlock icon in your browser's toolbar to launch the extension.

2. Connect Your Wallet:

   • Upon first use, you'll be prompted to connect a Web3 wallet.

   • If you don't have a wallet, you'll need to create one. For guidance on setting up a Web3 wallet, refer to our Creating Your Web3 Profile section.

3. Authorize Connection:

   • Follow the on-screen instructions to authorize the connection between SocialBlock and your wallet.

4. Complete Profile Setup:

   • Once connected, you'll be guided through setting up your Web3 profile, including:

     • Username: Choose a unique identifier.

     • Profile Picture: Upload an image or select an NFT from your wallet.

     • Bio: Write a brief description about yourself.

5. Finalize Setup:

   • Review your information and confirm to complete the setup process.

3. Engaging with Communities

1. Navigate to Any Website:

   • Visit any URL where you wish to engage with the community.

2. Open SocialBlock Chatroom:

   • Click on the SocialBlock icon to access the live chatroom associated with the current URL.

3. Participate in Discussions:

   • Join ongoing conversations or start a new topic.

   • Earn rewards by completing social tasks and contributing valuable content.

4. Explore Additional Features:

   • Analyze trending on-chain data, participate in airdrop campaigns, and more, all within the SocialBlock interface.
